A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a condo in Galveston Beach has been arrested, the Galvestons police department said.
Officers responded to the condo at around 1 a.m.
Tuesday after receiving a report of a man who appeared intoxicated, according to police.
Officers found a woman who said she was walking on the beach with a man in a black shirt who “seemed intoxicated,” police said.
He told the woman he had a gun, which he also told the victim to get down on the ground and put her hands behind her back.
The woman was able to get to her feet, and he took off on foot toward her.
She was able get away from him and call police.
She said he was not carrying a weapon, but he did have a gun in his waistband, according.
The victim told officers she ran away and called 911.
The victim told police the man took her purse and money and fled.
He was arrested at his home and booked into the Galvez Police Department.
